Show the current pages IP in Firefox's status bar.
Some times it can be interesting to know the
IP address of a website. To find out, it is usually necessary to open an MS-DOS windows and ping the domains name. But their is an easier solution for the users of Mozilla's known browser: it is called
ShowIP.
ShowIP is a complement for
Firefox that shows the
IP of the active web page in the status bar. Accessing the components configuration options it is possible to select services, modify how it appears, etc...
How the
ShowIP Firefox Add-on work is very simple:
1. Install it in Firefox and leave it active.
2. Load the web page that you want to
find out its IP, by writing the address in the browser bar.
3. On the right of status bar we sill be able to
see the IP address of the domain.
If it appears in red, it belongs to an address an
IPv4 format, meanwhile if it appears in green it belongs to an
IPv6 address. It is possible to view this IP as a decimal, octal, hexadecimal or DWord. What's more, by clicking with the left button of the mouse it will shot the domain name and by pressing with the right one the IP. Both values can be copied to the clipboard from the emerging contextual menu.
